Avigdor’s Helping Hand (AHH)
The September 2006 launching of Avigdor’s Helping Hand in memory of Avigdor Glaser z”l was the beginning of an ambitious venture that has already been instrumental in assisting families in dire need. Therganization was founded by those who experienced the tragic loss of a loved one in the prime of his life with the singular objective of alleviating, to some degree, the terrible devastation of others overwhelmed by similar tragedy.

Despite its brief history, having been in operation for only two short months, AHH has assisted and continues to assist several families who have been stricken with life-altering and life-shattering tragedy. The focus of AHH is on families who have suffered the crushing loss of their primary wage-earning household member.

Compounding the horrific emotional blow, the family faces possible financial ruin. AHH provides crucial financial relief as well as volunteer assistance with the various areas of daily life affected by the tragic loss.

AHH is ready, willing and able, both financially and with its legion of volunteers, to aid families in our communities who are experiencing shock and chaos coupled with grief and uncertainty. In its short but vital history, AHH has provided, and will continue to provide, ongoing assistance to wives who have been suddenly rendered widows, children who have been turned into orphans and husbands who are trying to forge ahead without their wives at their side. AHH provides essential financial assistance to these scarred families so that they can continue to pay their rent or mortgage, provide for their children and continue to live their lives with dignity and some semblance of normal routine in a time of absolute turmoil.

Avigdor’s Helping Hand is a community based organization and is relying on the support, both financially and through volunteerism, of the entire community. If you know of anyone who can benefit from AHH or wish to volunteer or donate your time or money, please contact us at 347-424-4926 or by email.
