I just wanted to thank you and all of the people behind AHH for the generous contribution that was made recently to Mrs. __________. I have been involved with the family for many years. I was a good friend of her late husband. We shared an office together in the accounting firm I worked at many years ago. He was a very special man who taught me many things, especially how to perform acts of Chesed. I’m not embarrassed to say that I was lacking in this area and he showed me the real meaning of Chesed , in a very unassuming way. I basically took over the family finances when he was sick and even more so when he passed away. Mrs. __________ was left with 5 young children and no family from either side to count on.
Boruch Hashem, in December she married off her 4th son- one more to go! It was a special simcha for me to be at the Chasuna. Speaking to Mrs. __________ before the Chasuna, we discussed how she would be able to pay her share of the expenses. Knowing that this donation would come from AHH was a real relief for her. She is a woman who tries very hard to get by without relying on others. She has a number of jobs that she works at to help make ends meet. One of the more amazing things that she does is that she hosts people in her home for Shabbos who want to be in the frum community for Shabbos. She has regulars who pay her every week.
I just wanted to share a little bit with you to tell you how much I appreciate what AHH did. I can still hear the happiness in her voice when we ran the numbers and we determined she could pay her share of the expenses!
