To the wonderful people of Avigdors Helping Hand;
Thank you so much for helping us finance my sister’s wedding. It relieved a major stress that we were feeling.A little background to our situation, as I know it’s not typical for a sibling to be making the wedding.
Our mother passed away a few years ago and my sister has been living with me and family since. Our father is unfortunately not able to be a father for her either emotionally or financially, so my brother and I we left to “marry her off”. B”H we each have young families of our own as well and tuitions and household expenses, and although we would love to give her the world, we were just not in the position to. She was engaged to a Baal Teshuva whose parents are divorced and both parents had said they are not able to help much to pay for the wedding or to set them up, leaving us with the task of doing so. Where were we to turn? How could we possibly make a chasuna for them? B”H someone suggested we apply to your organization, and through the immense generosity that you have provided we were able to make a fine wedding.We say every day in Shacharis “ Eilu devarim sh’adam ochayl peirotayhem ba’olam hazeh v’hakeren kayemet lo l’olam haba, v’eilu hayn: … hachnasat kallah,..”
The volunteers and donors of Avigdors Helping Hand should be gebentched to have the koach and ability to continue to help others, and reap the benefits of this great mitzvah for eternity.
It is brought down from the Chofetz Chaim that when a girl gets married, how she starts her life will be a great indication of how she leads it. If she starts off with nothing and depressed, she will have little ambition and her children will unfortunately follow in her footsteps. If, however, she gets married like a true “kallah” and Bas Yisroel, she will start her marriage off on the right foot full of ambition and willingness to turn her life around.
You have made possible for a yesoma and a baal teshuva to begin their lives off on the right foot. Because of your tireless efforts, the next generation of Klal Yisroel will even be affected- Yaasher Koach and thank you.
Tizku l’mitzvos
Sincerely,
A VERY grateful recipient
